The Future is Not For Sale September 26, 2024 at 5:30pm - 7pm Pacific Time (US & Canada) Boeing Museum of Flight E Marginal Way South Seattle, WA United States Contact person: Sean Arent
Representatives from WPSR, SAWC, 350 Seattle, Seattle VFP, and FOR met with an IAM Boeing picket captain currently on strike this Wednesday to discuss how to go forward while respecting the demands of the over 30 thousand Boeing workers currently on strike. We realized that the common thread in our fights is Boeing's lust for short-term profits, selling out worker's pensions and shackling the world to nuclear arms.
We will be rallying at the Boeing Museum of flight in South Seattle at the entrance facing E Marginal Way next Thursday, 9/26 from 5:30-7 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs and messages on holding Boeing accountable and what we could spend 1 hour of US nuclear weapons ($10.8 million) spending on instead. We will take these messages to the nearby Minuteman Missile Silo at the end of the action.
Throughout the coming days and beyond, individuals are encouraged to volunteer at the IAM union halls and join picket lines with striking workers, not to push any message but to uplift the demands of the machinists. It's ok to wear something from our coalition or your organization, but be sure to listen more than you talk to workers. See flier attached for hall locations.
September 26th is the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
