Bringing together 115 artists of all ages from Geneva, Switzerland, and more than 50 other countries, this exhibition launches, from Geneva—a city of peace, international humanitarian law, and human rights—an artistic appeal for peace, disarmament, and the elimination of the nuclear threat. The exhibition presents a selection of 55 works from those submitted, offering a representative glimpse into the diversity of perspectives and artistic expressions gathered around this project.
Eighty-one years after the end of World War II and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and eighty years after the adoption of the first United Nations General Assembly resolution calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons, this initiative seeks to recall an essential reality: in the nuclear age, a new world war would not only be a tragedy, but an existential risk for humanity .
Through their works, the artists express the urgency of dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateralism , while highlighting Geneva 's central role as a space for encounter and peacebuilding. They invite us to rethink our collective priorities in favor of a more humane world, founded on cooperation, a culture of peace, and living together.
The exhibition is organized by Colorier l'Avenir, in partnership with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), winner of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, and with the support of the Geneva Support Fund of the Loterie Romande.
