About this Event -We will hold a “Nuclear Weapons are Illegal” banner and 5 signs along Woodward Ave, thanks to the DAPJN. You are encouraged to bring candles for dusk, best in containers to prevent wind plus wax drips. Fortunately, there's predicted to be only a 3% chance of snow now for Jan. 22nd, but a high of only 29 degrees Fahrenheit and 5 to 10 mph winds. Some folding chairs, candles, and a sound system will be available, plus our use of the church's restroom. Dress warmly. Free parking.
Copies of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons Fact Sheet from OREPA will be handed out with a list of Michigan’s Senators and Representatives on the back. Plus, there will be copies of the December 2020 Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance=OREPA Newsletter which is an excellent summation that explains the historical context of this important treaty.
Using OREPA’s guidelines: “Masks will be required, and physical distancing will be strictly observed. Because we can spread out along the road, there is no numerical limit for this event. People should use their own judgment and comfort level in making decisions about participation.”
