Live Stream from Nagasaki: August 9th minute of silence August 09, 2022 at 10:50am - 11:15am Tokyo Nagasaki Peace Park 9 Matsuyamamachi Nagasaki 852-8118 Japan Contact person: ICAN and Peace Boat

Join ICAN, Peace Boat and Hiroshima partners for live streams on the morning of August 6 and August 9, the days the atomic bombs were dropped on the cities in 1945.

As it is not possible for many people from around the world to gather in Nagasaki in person, we are excited to announce that our partner organizations will offer two live streams from Hiroshima and Nagasaki for the moments of silence on the 77th anniversaries.

In August 1945, atomic bombs indiscriminately killed tens of thousands of people, profoundly disrupting and altering the lives of the survivors. Every year, the Peace Memorial Ceremonies are held to remember the victims and ensure not to repeat the evil. Peace Boat and local partners will share with you live the atmosphere of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and feeling of the Hibakusha on that very morning from several venues that commemorate the consequences of the atomic bombings.

While wishing for a world without nuclear weapons, please join us for a minute of silence.

  • When: August 9, 10:50am Nagasaki / 11:50am Sydney / 1:50pm Auckland / 9:50pm (August 8) New York
