Policy Paper Launch: From Harm to Justice: A Needs-Based Assessment of Nuclear-Affected Communities in Kazakhstan and Policy Pathways for Implementing Articles 6 and 7 of the TPNW.

Join us on 2 July 2026 for the online launch of QNFC’s new policy paper, authored by the Qazaq Nuclear Frontline Coalition (QNFC), on nuclear-affected communities in Kazakhstan and pathways for implementing Articles 6 and 7 of the TPNW.

The paper examines the ongoing humanitarian, environmental, health, and intergenerational consequences of Soviet nuclear detonations in Kazakhstan, identifies urgent gaps in healthcare, compensation, environmental remediation, social protection, and access to information, and offers survivor-centred, participatory, and rights-based policy recommendations.

Rooted in lived experience, community knowledge, and responsibility to the land, water, collective wellbeing, and future generations, it places nuclear-affected communities at the centre, not only as recipients of assistance, but as experts, rights-holders, knowledge-holders, and contributors to nuclear justice.
