TPNW First Review Conference

Today, amid renewed geo-political tensions and regional conflicts, the risks of nuclear weapons use are arguably the highest they have ever been since the end of the Second World War. Yet even as some governments signal new investments in nuclear arsenals, a coalition of nations, civil society organisations and international institutions are advancing a different vision, anchored in the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), which went into effect five years ago.

States Parties to the TPNW will meet and review progress on the treaty at its first Review Conference from 30 November - 4 December 2026, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Find out more about this meeting, and all the events below →

First Review Conference

This review conference will look at how the treaty is advancing its goals, including implementation of the Vienna Action Plan.
