CELEBRATE the 1st anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. We will gather across from the administration building at Bath Iron Works on Washington St. to witness against the continued production of the nuclear-capable Aiegis guided missile destroyers by General Dynamics/BIW.
This Treaty has been ratified by over 50 nations in the UN but, sadly, none of the nations with nuclear weapons plan to begin the process of nuclear disarmament.
We must demand that our government ratify this treaty and end the insanity of building weapons of mass destruction here in Maine.
Disarmament means turning away from warships and instead healing the many crises that surround us. It is time to demand that we begin the end of nuclear weapons -- for the safety and well-being of every life form on the planet.,
