Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Established in 2010, the Institute of International Studies (IIS UGM) is a unique university-based research institution under the Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). IIS UGM is a research institution that addresses international relations through the lens and experiences of the Global South and combines research and publication with advocacy on the issues of democracy and social inclusion, foreign policies and regional intersections, globalisation, development, and environment, and security and global governance. The institute's work and engagement with global issues reflect its vision of a just, peaceful, and civilised global society. For the past years, we have concentrated our advocacies on humanitarian disarmament for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction, autonomous weapons systems and other non-human agency weapons.
