Fundraise For ICAN
Will you help us get ready for Vienna in 2022?
People often ask us "what can I do to support ICAN?" and in a global campaign there's not always a cookie-cutter answer that works for everyone. But the truth is that there is an underlooked way you can make a huge difference to the campaign, and that is by helping us reach new donors.
Inviting donations is easy: by logging in below, a unique fundraiser link will be created for you, which you can copy, paste and share on social media, your messaging app of choice, or email, asking your friends and family to donate.
Of course, there's something in it for the fundraisers too, in addition to our eternal gratitude. To everyone who raises more than CHF/USD 150 by July 31st, we will send an ICAN T-shirt, and the top 5 donors by July 31st will receive special thanks in our annual report.
Sign in with Facebook, Twitter, or email to get your personal tracking link.
That is where you come in. Word-of-mouth is still one of the most important motivators for someone to donate, and as a small organisation, we need all the exposure we can get. By inviting your friends and family to donate between now and July 31st 2021, you help us not just by raising these funds, but also by spreading the word about ICAN and what we do. So will you help us? Copy your personal fundraising link above and share it far and wide. The most important thing when asking people you know to support a cause with you, is to share in your own words why you care, so in this case tell them why banning nuclear weapons is important to you. We have prepared some images that you can download and share, and prepared a list of 5 reasons to donate to ICAN. But really, it's the personal stories that connect with people the most. Of course, you can also encourage donations by offering something fun in return, like an online trivia night or Zoom concert for these socially distanced times, completing a challenge, baking a cake, or any other creative ideas you think will work for them and you. Why Fundraise For ICAN?
Campaigns like ours run on the generous support of donors and funders. Monthly donations - no matter how small - can make a huge difference in our work. With our tiny budget we are managing to rattle the nine nuclear armed states - which spent $72.6 billion on their nuclear weapons in 2020 - through the success of the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). We haven't slowed down since the treaty entered into force in January 2021, and we're getting ready for the next big milestone: the first Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW in Vienna in 2022. But making sure civil society's voices are represented in these uncertain times is going to be a big task, and we need all the support we can get.Ready to go?
