Supporting ICAN Partners’ Activities Marking the Entry Into Force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) 

With the 50th ratification of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons having been deposited on 24 October 2020, the Treaty will enter into force on 22 January 2021. This day will open a new chapter for nuclear disarmament: nuclear weapons will at long last be banned under international law, just like other weapons of mass destruction. 

ICAN wants to mark this historic day by holding a global day of action on the TPNW - to celebrate our achievement of course, but also to seize this moment to educate the public about the treaty, further stigmatize prohibited activities under the treaty and to increase political support domestically.

How to Apply

The ICAN Funds for the Global Day of Actions on the TPNW support the preparation and holding of activities on 22 January 2021.  The deadline to apply is 20 November 2020. Please review the Application Guidelines carefully to see if your activity is eligible.
