Letter from the President of Mexico

(Unofficial translation)

4 July 2013

To the Hiroshima Youth Committee of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons,

I reiterate the strong support of my government for achieving a global treaty to ban and eliminate nuclear weapons.

Mexico, as a pacifist nation, will continue to work for disarmament and non-proliferation. In this regard, we will promote the renewal of international commitment to achieving a world free of nuclear weapons through our participation in multilateral negotiations leading to an international treaty on the subject.

I recognize the noble work of the Committee and take this occasion to send a cordial greeting to all of its members.
