POSITION WITH ICAN: Board Member ICAN Australia and President of the Medical Association for Prevention of War (Australian affiliate of IPPNW)

BACKGROUND:

A General Practitioner with over twenty five years experience in community medicine, Dr Bill Williams' career has included clinical and public health responsibilities in urban, rural and remote locations. He has written extensively on men’s health, race relations in Australia and on health aspects of the nuclear fuel chain. His research, writing and teaching interests include the roots of violence, the health of Aboriginal Australians and the risks associated with the nuclear fuel chain. He works as a General Practitioner on Victoria's Surfcoast.

He is the current President of the Medical Association for Prevention of War (Australian affiliate to IPPNW) and was one of the foundering Board members of ICAN. He is also International Councilor of  International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW).
