Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced plans for an International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, to be co-chaired by former Foreign Minister Gareth Evans.

ICAN welcomes this move, following on from the 1995 Canberra Commission on the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.

18th IPPNW World Congress

More than 600 doctors and medical students from 44 countries brought IPPNW's call for the abolition of nuclear weapons and for the prevention of war and small arms violence to India, when they gathered in New Delhi for the 18th World Congress from March 9-11.
