Hungary

Hungary is a signatory of the NPT and has signed and ratified the CTBT. They are one of the 44 listed countries needed to sign and ratify for the CTBT to enter into force.

Hungary operates four nuclear reactors at the Paks plant on the river Danube. In September 2005, the Hungarian government approved in principle to extend the life span of the plant by 20 years. In November the Hungarian parliament gave the final approval.
